Recently, I’ve been thinking about how confusing it is when you begin to eat healthier foods. Nowadays, It seems there is always something you shouldn’t eat because oh my god, it will kill you. Well, not really, but some of these nutrition experts would like you to believe so. My head spins sometimes from all the things you should or shouldn’t eat.

It gives me a headache.

But this is my health and fitness journey and I am doing it MY way. I refuse to listen to other people. Instead, I’m going to eat how and what I want. It’s how I have managed to lose almost 15 lbs thus far and have kept it off.

If you tell me I shouldn’t eat something because it has chemicals or artificial flavors in it, well, if I am eating it at that moment, you should know that I don’t give a rat’s ass what you think. If I want a soy veggie burger, I’ll eat a soy veggie burger. If I crave a Big Mac from McDonald’s, I’m going to eat a Big Mac from McDonald’s (I get so sick of people bitching about fast food. Newsflash, it’s always been bad for you, and it’s a CHOICE to eat it.) If I want to drink Pepsi or Mountain Dew once in a while, then I will. My point here is that I refuse to listen to someone tell me how bad something is and that I shouldn’t eat or drink it. Chances are, I already know this.

If you go on and on about how you lost weight without drinking shakes and “eating real food”, I really don’t give a shit. I LOVE LOVE LOVE healthy shakes and smoothies. I see NOTHING wrong with drinking shakes to lose weight.

With that being said, I bought Primal Fuel recently not because it’s Paleo. It had me at “vanilla coconut”. We’re not Paleo eaters but this sounded so good. And I’m here to tell you that it’s to die for. Made myself a shake for breakfast and now I’m hooked! They even have CHOCOLATE coconut. Oh dear! This will be a must-have in our kitchen pantry!

At this point in my journey, I can’t let outside sources influence what I eat or drink. Do I love the idea of eating clean 90% of the time. Absolutely! But I’m not there yet. However, each day I eat healthy foods, I FEEL better and better. I’ve already conquered my sugar addiction by simply cutting way down on sweets. I really don’t have any desire to eat them now, but I know down the road I will, and that is perfectly fine as long as I don’t go crazy and eat a dozen donuts. 😀
