Insanity: Max 30 Weeks 3 and 4 Update

Technically, this week I should be in Month 2, Week 1 of Insanity: Max 30, but I took a week off from working out at the beginning of Week 4. So, I am doing Week 4 this week.

Week 3 went great, and I finished strong, but then as I was supposed to start Week 4, I lost my mojo. I was in one of my funks I get in from time to time. I hate them, but it comes with the territory when one has depression. I knew it would not last long, so I told myself when it was over, I would get my ass back to working out. Plus, I knew exercise would help my “funk” and rid me of brain fog.

Well, that day off turned into 2 which turned into 3, and before I knew it a week had passed.

Am I mad at myself? Hell, no. I knew I would get back to it and I did. I was surprised that getting back into it was far easier than I thought it would be, and I was still as strong as I was before the break. I thought maybe I would struggle a bit, but I did not!

My eating the last couple weeks have not been great but not terrible either. However, I stepped on the scale recently and I have not lost one pound. Bright side? I have not gained one pound or more either. I realize I need to crack down on my nutrition, and that is really hard for me because who the hell doesn’t love food? Like all food that’s bad for you? 😀 I still struggle with binge eating so that never helps.

I’ve decided that if I truly want and need to lose weight, which I do, then I have to follow a plan. For me, the 21 Day Fix plan is the easiest and best plan for me. Although, I probably would follow Weight Watchers if it wasn’t so expensive. This girl is on a tight budget, ya’ll! I know I keep saying I’m going to use my containers lol, but I swear I’m going to. When I did 21DF in 2014, I lost 6 pounds and 5 inches in 21 days. I was pretty happy with that, even though others have lost more. To me, losing 1-2 lbs a week is healthier than losing weight rapidly.

Tomorrow I go and do my weekly grocery shopping and I am stocking up on healthy stuff. I have a very limited budget this week, but thank God for Aldi. Am I right? 🙂 I actually go to three places to shop – Aldi for whatever I can get that’s cheaper than Wal-Mart, Hy-Vee for produce and meat because they are so good here, and Wal-Mart for non-grocery and some grocery items. It takes me about an hour and a half to get it all done. It is one of the things I dread. Every. Single. Week.

Somewhere during this journey, I got addicted to strawberries lol. I buy them every week, usually two pounds at a time, and they’re gone way before the week is up. Last week, I also bought blueberries,which I rarely do because they’re cashy, and mixed the two together for a healthy after dinner treat. Really good! I also like both in my shakes!

 

I’ll write another post this coming weekend! It’s good for accountability, and I need that!
